Loui was one of 2 Doves brought to A.V.A.S. to help relieve overload at a bird Sanctuary that rescued 20+ doves from a road side attraction. Now he has an aviary to stretch his wings and loves water baths and his bird seed.

Aldo has the same history as Loui. He is the 2nd Dove to be rescued and brought to A.V.A.S. He also loves water baths and his bird seed.
American - Guinea Pig
Betty was for sale and was the very last of her cage mates. She unfortunately got to watch all of her friends disappear one by one. Because of this, she is extremely skittish of hands and has some trust issues. She has warmed up to all of her new friends who never leave her. She will even ask for treats if she's feeling brave!
White Crested - Guinea Pig
Maple was surrendered to the Sanctuary after her family was struggling to provide the care she needs. She loves her greens and cuddle time with her Guardians.
Dutch - Rabbit
Hershey was surrendered to the Sanctuary after she wasn't getting along with her cage mates. She is doing great here and even has Zuke as her love! She loves peas and getting attention.
Angora mix - Rabbit
Zuko was surrendered to the Sanctuary when his mom couldn't give him the attention he needs. He now has a whole room to roam and spends it with his love, Hershey. He loves fresh cut grass and peas.
Maine Coon mix - Cat
Miss Bindi was located at Ark Valley Humane Society. She wasn't fitting in with other families and was returned to the humane society twice. When she arrived at the Sanctuary she was timid but she has warmed up to all the animals here!
Longhair Orange - Cat
Pebbles came to the Sanctuary from a loving home but was just not quite the right fit for them. When she got here she instantly got to stretch her legs and explore all of her new surroundings. She now loves to play with all her cat toys. When she's tired she climbs up to the top of her cat tower to rest and take it all in!
Short hair grey - Cat
Cinder came to us on his own. After extensive searching for an owner, he became a part of the A.V.A.S. family.
He loves sleeping and looking out the windows. He and Pebbles play a lot around the Sanctuary and he loves his Guardians!
Great Pyrenees/ Belgian Malinois - Dog
Kit was surrendered to the Sanctuary because his original owners were elderly and struggled to meet of his needs. He now has his very own goats to watch over and is happy to say hello to any friendly faces!
Alpine - Goat
Yes, Jimothy is my name! I was born the third in a triplet birth. My poor mother was too tired to take care of me so I found a new home here at the Sanctuary. I love to run and bounce off of obstacles and follow my Guardians around on hikes in the woods.
Pigmy - Goat
Pepper was one of 2 goats that were surrendered to the Sanctuary. Pepper and his brother, Salt were destined to be food but were rescued by the daughters of the owner and brought to A.V.A.S. Salt passed at the age of 8 from health complications but Pepper lives on strong! He enjoys his feeding and relaxing in the sun.
Thoroughbred - Horse
Red was surrendered to the Sanctuary by an owner who could no longer care for him. He was underweight and lame. Now he has his health back and is top of the herd. He provides protection for the other horses at A.V.A.S. and adores his Guardians.

Belgian mix - horse
Chewy was surrendered to the Sanctuary after his pasture friend passed away and he became lonely. He now has friends of all kinds and loves to get attention.

Purdy ended up at the Sanctuary because she needed a new home. We knew she would be a great fit here so we brought her to the Sanctuary. She loves relaxing in the sun and finding out who has treats.
Age 17

Thelma is one of 2 horses rescued by A.V.A.S. that came from a slaughter-feed lot.
She came to us with Strangles and required immediate veterinary care. She is very skittish and does not trust people, yet. We'll be working with her to learn more about what she likes. She does, however, love her hay.
Age 12
Belgian - Horse
Louise is the 2nd horse A.V.A.S. rescued from the slaughter-feed lot. When she came to us she also required immediate veterinary attention. She now approaches people and accepts treats by hand. She also likes her hay.
Age 14
